ImAxes allows to explore multi-dimensional dataset in virtual reality by proposing a new paradigm where user can build their own visualization through direct interaction. Indeed, each attribute of the dataset is represented as an axis that can be grabbed with the VR controller. Then the axis position relative to other will determine the type of visualization that will be resulting, e.g. 2 parallel axes will create a parallel coordinate representation, 3 orthogonal axes will create a 3D scatterplot. The strength of the design is to allow emerging representation by combining the possibilities.
Moreover, the minimum and maximal value of each axis can be chosen by grabbing its extremity and sliding up or down with the VR controller. Also, any visualization can be quickly discarded by grabbing it and throwing it away making it explode for a bit more of user engagement.
