VRMiner is part of the visual data mining field, using an immersive analytics system composed of a 3D stereo screen and a 6 degree of freedom dataglove for knowledge discovery process of dataset. The Iris and Wine dataset has been used for this version.
Data is encoded as cube in a 3D scatterplot, each coordinate representing an attribute. To support the choice of relevant mapping a 1 nearest neighbour machine learning algorithm has been employed. One particularity of those dataset is that they contain images which are displayed as texture on top of the cubic datapoint. Moreover, if additional multimedia files are available, those can be displayed on a supportive 2D screen located next to the main screen. Last, details on demand information may be provided through speech in the VRMiner.
